4-38. HOSE REPAIR.

Spills can result in saturated soil and cause a potential fire hazard.
a.
See U.S. Army manuals TM 5-343 and FM 10-69 for additional instructions on hose repair.
b.
Three part menders are provided for repair of 4 and 6 inch hoses.
(1)
Cut hose (1) to be repaired at least 3 inches back from the visible rupture or tears.
(2)
Slip hose (1) ends onto mender (2).
(3)
Install one three part clamp (3) on each hose (1) and mender (2) end.
(4)
Install six each screws (4), flat washers (5), and nuts (6).
